Not all kinds of carpets could be dyed. Carpets that are made of nylon and wool can be dyed. However, you must remember that acrylic, polyester and polypropylene carpets cannot undergo any kind of dyeing.

For instance, you have a blue carpet and you color it with a red dye, the outcome would be a violet carpet. Remember that when you dye a carpet you only make it darker and never lighter.

There are two ways to dye your carpet. The first one is through the use of a spray while the other one is through the use of a rotary scrubber. Spraying a dye on your carpet is much recommended if you will only color a portion of your carpet. This is not much suggested in dyeing large carpets because the dye doesn't penetrate into the textiles fibers completely. Applying dye on your carpet using rotary scrubber is a more effective way of re-coloring your carpet. This method evenly dyes all the portion of your carpet without missing any single portion.

Don't just use cheap carpet dyes. Only purchase a quality carpet dye to be sure that you will have a good finish product.

If you are not confident in dyeing your own carpet, you always have the option to seek the service of a carpet dyeing specialist. Hiring one is also advisable most especially if you don't have enough time to do it yourself.
You can ask your friends and family for referrals. Perhaps, some of them have already hired a carpet dyeing specialist before.

If you already find a prospective professional that would do the job for you, ask some references from him or her. Contact these references and ask them whether they are satisfied with the work done by your prospective carpet dyeing specialist.
