ATUG 2008 Opening Remarks
ATUG’s Managing Director, Rosemary Sinclair, opened ATUG 2008, ATUG’s 24th Annual Conference held in Sydney, 12 March 2008. Sinclair’s opening remarks included ATUG’s view of the importance of the recent High Court decision in favour of telecommunications access rules which preserve competition in the long-term interests of end users.

23rd ATUG Awards, Australian Technology Park, 7th March 2007
ATUG proudly presented the 22nd ATUG Awards at the 2007 ATUG Gala Dinner attended by over 350 people from industry and end user organisations. The Awards were presented by Senator Stephen Conroy, Shadow Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Mr Paul Morris, ATUG Director and Awards Chairman.
ATUG’s Awards are the oldest and most respected Awards for Australian Communications achievements.
The Awards recognise the achievements of people and companies working to advance the use of communications services which are now so critical to business growth, competitiveness and efficiency.
ATUG also presented for the FIRST time ATUG’s National Awards for the Effective Use of Broadband.

ATUG 2007 Conference Sydney March 7th 2007
ATUG’s Managing Director, Rosemary Sinclair, today welcomed delegates at ATUG 2007, the group’s 23rd annual update conference for communications end users.

ATUG welcomes news of next generation broadband in Brisbane – Project Vista
24th October 2006, ATUG welcomes the news that Brisbane residents and business’ could be the first in Australia to access true next generation broadband under a proposal by Queensland Government to build a fibre optic network that will deliver next generation digital content and online services. The Queensland Government’s Project Vista will see Brisbane residents and business’ being able to access speeds of a 100MB/second over a communications network on par with leading economies globally. Australia Telecommunications Users Group 4th Annual Regional Conference
Collaborate, Communicate, Innovate
Canberra, 1 May, 2006 - ATUG will hold its 4th Annual Regional Conference on the 15th and 16th of May, 2006 at the National Museum of Australia in Canberra. The developments over the last six months in telco policy and technology make communications in regional Australia a hot topic for community groups, government and industry.

ATUG Celebrates 25th Birthday at ATUG 2006 Conference
Annual conference debates key industry issues: Collaborate, Communicate, Innovate.

TATA Consultancy Services to bring Industry leaders together for Next Generation Networks event
Sydney: November 2, 2005 - Next Generation Networks (NGN) are set to radically transform the current business models of telecommunications providers with impacts on tariffs, service level agreements and the relationships between the service providers and their customers says Rick Marmur, Tata Consultancy Services Australian and New Zealand VP& GM.

Australian survey confirms Internet telephony increases competitive pressure on incumbent carrier revenues
Sydney, 12 October 2005 - In August 2005, a joint pilot survey on Internet telephony, or Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), was conducted throughout Australia with members of the Australian Telecommunications Users Group (ATUG) and customers from engin, a leading Australian broadband telephone company. The survey included over 500 respondents, comprising VoIP users, non-users and home and business subscribers.

ATUG “Broadband in the Hand” Regional Roadshow 2005
Sydney, 28 June 2005 - Working for increased availability of affordable broadband for all Australians. Following the overwhelming success of the 2004 project, ATUG is embarking on another Regional Broadband Roadshow for 2005. Last year ATUG visited 21 regional centers around Australia, working with local community champions of broadband and speaking directly to over 1000 delegates. The tour had an immediate impact with a significant increase in broadband user numbers and faster rollout of DSL availability. Click Here for Full Media release
